Telstra Spatial Insights™ is a data driven analytics solution that generates insights on how open spaces, built environments, transport links and other government assets are utilised. These insights drive evidence based, cost effective and near real-time planning decisions.

Working together with our national installation partners, The Telstra Spatial Insights™ team will work collaboratively with you to understand your problem, your space and how our solution can be implemented to help meet your needs.  Once this has been determined, our installation partner will visit your site to install and configure the hardware. Post installation, access to an online reporting tool to view data on the sites will be provided. Integration via APIs into your existing dashboards can also be arranged.

No. Telstra Spatial Insights™ is a professionally designed, installed and maintained solution. Utilising our national partners, we will help to create a solution that best meets your needs.

Ethical Artificial Intelligence (EAI)  is a set of 8 voluntary design principals that the Australian Federal Government has established to help positively influence AI, build trust and establish loyalty. Telstra has embedded these 8 principles throughout the Telstra Spatial Insights™ life cycle.

No. Telstra Spatial Insights™ does not capture or store any Personally Identifiable Information (PII). Full body blur is automatically applied to all source images used to set up the solution, so that not even the technician is able to identify the people or objects being counted.  The data sets are completely anonymised by the AI and only telemetry data such as the count number and time is stored in the cloud. 

The Artificial Intelligence models are trained to recognise a number of different objects. Autonomously collecting data is a cost effective way of collecting a larger range of data-points than traditional technology such as pneumatic road tubes. This data collected is also standardised leading to a single source of truth.

Yes. Our professional installation technicians hold the appropriate security licences for all relevant states and territories and have been vetted by the Australian Federal Police.

Edge Computing is processing data on site, as close as possible to the source of capture instead of sending data over the internet into the cloud.  Processing data at the Edge results in faster processing times, less latency and lower bandwidth usage. Its also more secure and allows for faster communication between devices.

A trip line is a virtual straight line that has been defined by the user to enable the counting of people, bicycles or cars as they move across it. It also measures the direction of travel.

A polygon zone is a series of straight virtual lines joined together that measures movement as people and objects move through that zone. This could include monitoring things such as dwell time and occupancy

You can have up to 10 different polygon zones and trip lines within your solution.

Telstra Spatial Insights™ uses the Telstra 4G Mobile Network to transmit data to and from the cloud.

All telemetry data is anonymised and encrypted before being sent to Telstra's secure Microsoft Azure cloud servers.

No. Data is stored in Australia on Microsoft Azure Cloud servers and subject to Australian laws. We also do not send any data offshore.

To be eligible, you must be a new or existing Telstra Enterprise customer with a valid ABN/ACN or ARBN. A Telstra Sales representative will also work with you to perform some pre-sales checks to assess your eligibility which will include considerations such as site location and access to adequate Telstra 4G Mobile coverage.

Authorised customer administrators can access reporting and data via a web-based portal which will be set up for you as part of the installation process. An API can also be arranged to feed data directly into your own pre-existing dashboards.

To register your interest you can either speak directly to your Telstra Account Manager or Sales Representative or you can register online at https://telstra.com/spatialinsights/enquiries for a call back and a sales representative will get in touch to discuss your requirements.

We offer flexible pricing options that allow you to either pay for hardware upfront or you can instead choose to spread the cost across 36 months in equal monthly repayments. If the 36 month repayment option is selected, the only upfront cost will be the initial cost of installation. All charges will be invoiced via your Telstra bill.

All installation, hardware, licence and agreed support charges will be invoiced on your monthly Telstra bill. If you have elected to pay for the hardware upfront, this charge will appear on your first bill after installation.

Billing will commence once your installation is completed.

Each customers billing cycle will commence on a different date throughout the month. Pro-rata billing means that on your first bill you will be charged a prorate amount of your total monthly charges. The amount from the date you activate your service until the date of your monthly bill cycle is charged as well as the amount for the next full calendar amount in advance. After your initial bill you will then only see the monthly billing amount on subsequent bills.

You can cancel your service at any time however Early Termination Charges (ETC) will apply. If you have purchased hardware on a repayment option, termination charges will be calculated by “monthly repayment amount x number of months remaining on repayment”. For licencing and managed services fees, early termination charges will be calculated by “(Monthly licencing fees x number of months remaining) * 20%”

Hardware servicing will be provided twice a year. Additional charges may apply for servicing and call outs that are additional to the regular scheduled maintenance.

No. Telstra Spatial Insights™ is professionally designed, installed and maintained to ensure that your solution is always producing the insights and data that your business needs and any issues get quickly rectified and resolved.

Each Edge Compute device can process up to 4 different camera feeds.

No. The enclosure box is only required for outdoor installations. Indoor installations will house the edge compute device within your existing IT Racks. 

You can set up to 10 different polygon zones and triplines.

Yes. We also have API’s available that allow you to integrate the Telstra Spatial Insights™ reports into your existing dashboards. 

Prior to installation, we will need to have photographs of where you wish to install the cameras and the site you are looking to capture. The more information you can provide us the better as this will help to determine if a basic or complex installation is required. 

Yes, In the event that the solution is unable to connect to the 4G network, an additional booster will be required.
